Former Glory...
I came across this amazing website today while searching for some old cottages, I love it, how did I not come across it before or hear of it. It is called Former Glory and it depicts the wonderful architecture of historic properties in Ireland. As you already know I love photographing ruins and old historical buildings, here are a few of my images below.
I ♥ life in the countryside
As you all know my blog is all about things I like... basically all things nice... So you may have gathered that I love life in the countryside. Here are a few photographs of life at home in the Irish coutryside, some photographs of places near to where I live. I love the Irish Countryside, the tranquility, the fresh air, the sound of the animals and the life in general. In 2011, I hope that our new house will be completed and then I can move to my new home with my boyfriend, we will then live on the farm, I can't wait :o) Below are a few photographs I have taken this year when I was out and about at home :)
Today I love....
There's always time for tea :)

Snug.. typically a small, very private room- how sweet :)
I like this doorway leading from the snug to the dining room, it lets light stream through the two rooms
This storage wall is wonderful, I can just see all my books and ornaments proudly sitting here in the snug.
Check out another beautiful bookshelf in the corner, I love the doors on it as it keeps the books cleaner but having it adjacent to the window may fade the books, which wouldn't do! Fussy aren't I!
Some pretty cottages
Both of these pretty little cottage style buildings are shops in Prague, they are so small and cute :)
Today I like....
Calligraphy- The word Calligraphy literally means beautiful writing. Before the invention of the printing press some 500 years ago, it was the way books were made. Today, there are three main types or styles of calligraphy: (1) Western or Roman, (2) Arabic, and (3) Chinese or Oriental. It is mostly in the form of elegant hand writing. It is an art form in itself. It allows you to juxtapose creativity with attention to detail in order to create something beautiful and exact.
Some nice blue things from my life....
From top:
- Russian dolls bought on a recent trip to Prague
- Print from Paris when I visited a few years ago
- Paper weight received as a birthday present
- A duvet cover I bought when at college, its sooo soft and its from Lidl (cheap and cheerful)
- Logo from Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue perfume box which I have on display in my room as I love the colour of it
- Picture from my bedroom wall which matches my blue room
- A print from my Alice in Wonderland Book which I got for my 9th birthday
