Decor8

This blog has over 147,000 followers on pinterest alone, so you can just imagine the amount of followers Holly has to her blog.  Holly previously lived in the US but has relocated to Germany. Her blog is full of interiors inspiration and she is the author of a number of books. She also runs Bloggin your Way Courses and Bootcamps. Decor8 is the very first blog I read and it inspired me to start blogging, thank you Holly!

 

Yvestown

Yvonne is the author of this blog. Her home is so pretty, you really must take a look, I'm sure most of you have seen it anyway on pinterest- it is everywhere! This is one of the most popular lifestyle and interior blogs out there. She was currently filmed for a documentary on bloggers and is writing her own book. She hosts the fabulous Yvestown Fair in her own home(I have it on my wishlist to visit).

Selina Lake

Selina is an English Interior Stylist and I love her work. She has a number of must have books including Romantic Style, Homespun Style, Bazaar Style and her new Pretty Pastel Style will be launched later this month at a wonderful craft and vintage fair. I love her blog and all her styling, it is so pretty, bright and always makes me smile! If you haven't seen her work before you really have to check out this blog!

Hello all my blogger friends, this evening I started putting up the Christmas tree and decorations. I was busy taking everything out and putting it up around the sitting room, and then I went to look in the box to get the remainder of the decorations and there was my wee cat Suki sitting in the box, talk about making yourself at home! She was rather comfy and liked the decorations.

So as Suki relaxed I got to work, I have nearly all the decorations up but there are a few that I want to finish tomorrow. Here are a few of the decorations in the sitting room. Here is the crib/nativity, my dad made the frame out of wood and I added the bark and mosses last year, its amazing how well they kept, isn't it, I will add some more moss, holly and ivy tomorrow.

I also made these two very quick decorations today made from green and red ribbon, cutting from old christmas card and pine cone.

I have my pine cones dried off a little as they were soaking wet, have you many ideas of what I could do with them???

I was thinking of incorporating them into my garland, any other ideas from ye all are very welcome. I hope ye are all getting into the festive spirit, I will wrap my presents sometime this week too and put them under the tree, it looks like I have lots of presents then :) Have you put your tree up yet? I know some of ye have as I have seen it on your blogs. Christmas blessings...

I was just taking a look at some nice cushions online and came across these very glamourous and glittery stylish cushions from Star by Julian Macdonald at Debenhams. I thought I'd share them with you all. Personally my favourite is the peacock feather cushion, its very unique. My mother calls me a magpie as I am always attracted to glittery things!

Both of these pretty little cottage style buildings are shops in Prague, they are so small and cute :)

I love the architecture of ecclesiastical buildings, here are just a few of my photographs from my travels. And no I am not a really holy/ religious person, I dont pray in all of these places.

Calligraphy-  The word Calligraphy literally means beautiful writing. Before the invention of the printing press some 500 years ago, it was the way books were made. Today, there are three main types or styles of calligraphy: (1) Western or Roman, (2) Arabic, and (3) Chinese or Oriental. It is mostly in the form of elegant hand writing. It is an art form in itself. It allows you to juxtapose creativity with attention to detail in order to create something beautiful and exact.
