Autumn has really set in here in Ireland. I had to turn the heating on this evening as it has got so cold. This year it seems to have got very cold very quickly. I am relaxing now with a big mug of tea after a lovely weekend with friends and family. I will miss the longer days of Summer and the sunny mornings, however I must say I like the Autumn time too. The countryside is so pretty with all the autumn leaves on the trees. I love being snug at the wood burning stove with the glow of the fire, drinking lots of hot cups of tea and reading a good book. I change the accessories around in my house too with more autumnal colours to create a more cosy warm feel. I love all the autumn inspired interiors which are now in the shops and with such a variety of online shops there is so much to choose from. This week I  spotted the Hurdal Range from IKEA and I absolutely love it- it has a real country cottage feel and looks so cosy with all the natural wood and green colours too. I am usually not one for too much natural wood in a room but I love this range. What do you think of it?

Do you get lost browsing for interiors online- I certainly do. Next has a lovely range of autumn interiors and I just love this Mr. Fox bed set which I spotted online. I also think that Mr. Fox  would work very well with the Hurdal Range from IKEA.

Have you ever been to Lough Key Forest Park near Boyle in County Roscommon. It is a lovely place to go for a day out or a Sunday evening. Here are a few photographs I took when I visited at the weekend. We went for a walk around the park. There are lots of activities- playgrounds, zip wires, tree top canopy walks, caravan and camping and electric bikes and segways for hire. I would highly recommend it for a day out. Here are a few items on my wish list this week, my wish list changes from week to week as I browse the internet and come across so many pretty items from furniture, to handbags, to perfumes, clothes, the list goes on.... This week I'm loving these hand made stools made from recycled wood with crochet covers from Wood & Wool. For some time I have been admiring handbags and just love this Garden Birds Everyday Bag from Cath Kidston. It looks really practical, easy to clean and also comfortable. I like a bag that I can put on my shoulder, not keen on clutch bags. Next item on my wish list is anything from Fragonard Parfumeur based in Grasse in South France (near Cannes & Nice). I visited their historic perfume factory over ten years ago and was delighted to see Marks and Spencer stock some of their products for Christmas. Finally for the current weather, I spotted this really pretty Joules country inspired umbrella. Joules has beautiful country inspired clothing, homewares and accessories. Some before and after images, not quiet finished yet though!

1 and 2 are images of my main entrance hall which is double height, I have yet to get my stairs,as you can see from the images above we have moved the old wooden steps out and replaced with a ladder for a while. Number 3 is my study/library which is up in the eaves. It's my hidden room and all that is left is the light, skirting board and door. I used some laminate flooring my dad had left over from his house. 

Some photographs of the interiors of my kitchen. The tiles featured above are the ones I am going with, they are atrium brillo paisley I think! I have painted oak units and a wood effect worktop. I hope to paint the walls a green colour and the floor is Denver Porcelain tiles like those above. In the other half of the kitchen we will have wood effect and the dining table will go there. Let me know what you think? And be honest, I won't take it personally :)

Evening all, hope you are all having a nice weekend. Today I went and ordered the doors for my new home. Here are the ones I settled on below. They are knotty pine and hopefully will look nice

And I went looking at furniture today as there is a sale on. Four rooms nearly fully painted and flooring next :) So tomorrow I'm bringing boyfriend to look at 2 nice suites of furniture for the snug and the sitting room. I also saw a beautiful dressing table that I love.. What have you all been up to??

Doors, doors and more doors, again there are far too many to choose from, I would like a wooden one that I can paint a heritage colour, although everyone is telling me they are hard to keep, what's your experience of wooden doors? What colour is your front door. Why not share it with us by posting it on your blog and leaving us the link, I'd love to get some new ideas..

So many choices, so many ideas, so many types, oh what to choose!! Perphaps the last one.. Have you any nice examples??

Each piece is custom made using beautiful hand sourced hardwoods and traditional wood working techniques.  Hannah was  awarded the 'people's choice award' at the New Forest show for her walnut Sideboard, which can be found on the website. I love her work and each piece is unique, stylish and will last the test of time!

Hello Everyone, I hope your enjoying your weekend, the weather was awful here in Ireland last night but today it is dry and sunny :) So hopefully that will last. Here is a photograph I took of the evening sky yesterday evening

My rug is coming along very very slowly, here is a photograph of it so far,

Thursday evening I was in town and bought these lovely storage boxes, they are really pretty. I have put my cross stitch and craft materials into them. They were so cheap €6.00 for the three of them at Dunnes Stores.

Now as the weather is nice, Im off to the woods for a walk, I might bring my camera along so I can take you for a walk through a woodland of Ireland later :)
