My kitchen update...

Here is the double doors leading to the sun room and the snug from the dining area in the kitchen. My table will be positioned under the fisherman light fitting. At the minute the electrician has the light up high but when work finishes it will be lowered to go over the table. Sorry for the poor quality photographs.

Here is a photograph of my new cooker and canopy. I am awaiting the hob to go in yet and then it will be tiled at the back

Here is a view further down of the kitchen. This photograph is taken from an unusual angle but you can see it anyway. Again there will be tiles under the units and there are some bits of the walls still to be touched up with paint.

Here is a photograph of my island, again the lighting needs to be fixed to the right height.

Here is my dresser on the opposite wall, it will have glass shelves in it.
So that's a quick tour of my new kitchen. Once the hob is in and the tiling is done, there is just a bit of touching up on the paint and that's it complete.

Before and after images....

1.

2.

3.

Some before and after images, not quiet finished yet though!
1 and 2 are images of my main entrance hall which is double height, I have yet to get my stairs,as you can see from the images above we have moved the old wooden steps out and replaced with a ladder for a while. Number 3 is my study/library which is up in the eaves. It's my hidden room and all that is left is the light, skirting board and door. I used some laminate flooring my dad had left over from his house.

Our neighbourhood :-)

As I walked through the farm land on Sunday, I began thinking about my new neighbours and I even stopped by their homes, have a look around, unfortunately I couldn't explore the interiors, unless I was Alice in Wonderland :-)

I took some photographs which you can look at below. They are wee animal burrows I came across, rabbits or hares I think, I also spotted a badger's home and below from across the fields there are some views of our new home. A road goes by the house and that telephone poll is the opposite side of the road. The stone has to go on the porch yet and the roof of the porch needs to be finished.
 One of my neighbours homes
Another home
And another home
And below our new home.
The plastering inside is starting this week :)

Update on My New Home- Come take a look around...

Below are a few photographs of my new home. The progress is slow this month, we are waiting on the windows to be installed now. These photos were taken last weekend. Come with me and have a look around...
The photograph above is of the sun room and here is a view of where the french doors will go.  The ceiling will be high and I hope to put a lovely light fitting in here, just like the one below. Excuse the mess outside but it is a building site.
Here are the two front windows of the sun room

And the back window in this room
-----
Below is a view of the back wall of the kitchen/ dining area. The units will go along the wall at the furthest window with an island in the middle. The door at the end leads to the utility and down stairs shower room.
Here is another view of the kitchen looking out from the sunroom. To the immediate left is the double doorway into the snug/living room where we will have a wood burning stove, beyond that is the door out to the double height hallway and again there is the door at the end  into the utlity and shower room at the end.
Below is a view out the kitchen windows into some of my boyfriend's fields. The  field will be graded down at the back to form part of our garden.
Below a photograph to the front of the snug/living room where the stove will go
And finally the sitting room on the opposite side of the hallway
And that's just a short tour of most of the downstairs of my new home. I have no photographs of the entrance hallway yet as it is very much work in progress.

Update No. 5 on my new home...

Here you go, as you can see the upstairs windows are taking shape, the roof is felted and now we are waiting to get the side gables plastered and windows in before we get the roof tiled. It really is coming along quick but the inside work will be slower progressing. At least it will be water tight for christmas!
I always take photographs from this angle and you can't really see the sunroom to the right hand side as this is where the opening is from the road and also there is a large pile of topsoil in the way to take a photograph from straight on. To the left hand side there is a room in the attic space,  this will be my secret room/ den which I will put all my books in and a small desk :)

Update No.3 on my New Home

Here is the progress on my new home. You can see the upstairs windows take shape, there is one on each side. Again as I took this photograph from an angle you cannot see the sunroom to the right hand side. The roofers are coming next week so it will really begin to shape then. We have chosen a storey and a half design house which is in keeping with the traditional farm houses in Ireland. We are going to put some stone on the porch and have brown windows with a coloured door.

Update, Thanksgiving & the Weekend

Hello All,
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We don't celebrate it here in Ireland but I reflected and gave thanks for all the good things in my life this year.

Just a quick post before I head off to my cosy bed on this cold winter night. I'm off for a short break this weekend so I won't be blogging, I hope you do stop by though and keep an eye on my blog for me :) So an update on my mat making, this is where I was about 2 weeks ago (I had one side started)

And now I'm this far on................

As you can  see I have a small bit to finish on the left hand side and then its all done :) My first mat mapping project. My sweet boyfriend bought me this set at a charity auction.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend and let me know what you get up too, I'm sure some of you will be decorating your homes for Christmas(I look forward to seeing your photos when I get back) and others may be visiting Santa with the kids or doing some shopping but whatever your doing make sure you enjoy yourself!

So when I'm away why not visit my other blogs:
All Things Nice this was my first blog which I started on wordpress back in May
and Country Heritage  which focuses on the built, natural and cultural heritage of rural Ireland.

Why not visit some of my other followers sites, they are all unique, inspirational and creative with lots of nice things :) You may like to follow them too.

Also if you have time check out the Etsy Ireland blog with over 80 crafters, artists and designers based throughout Ireland. You can link to many of their personal blogs from there.

Update on cross stitch

Here is my cross stitch pattern that I am working on at the moment, I'm new to cross stitching so in places it could be better but Im improving with time. I have an eye, the sign at the top and leaves to finish at the bottom. Here is my progress so far

I have the most difficult part completed so hopefully it won't take long to finish off now, then I am on to my next project which is a latch hook rug kit that my boyfriend bought for me.
