Easter at All things nice...

Easter is upon us already. It is a great time to catch up with family and friends and take a break from work after the long winter months. Our weather here in Ireland is forecast to improve which is great as we have had miserable weather. I have finished my flower arranging course now so will miss it. Below are some images of the flowers I have in my home at the moment. I have lots as they last so long when I keep them in my entrance hallway as it is much cooler than the kitchen, dining or living room. I loved the flower arranging course and perhaps I might even enroll on another one. I am longing for some sunshine to get out and about and do work in my garden. First thing I need to do is paint the garden fence. I also want to set flowers but it is still a little early for that as the nights are quite cold. Have you any nice plans for Easter?

Spring has Sprung with Flowers at Home...

Things have been busy here these past few weeks. I attended my second flower arranging class again on Tuesday night and it was great. We prepared a basket flower arrangement with some beautiful flowers, lovely shades of pale pinks, lilacs and purples with white mixed through. Hope you like it. I went out for a lovely long walk this evening and picked some wild daffodils from the meadow. I generally don't like picking them but I feel they are wasted out in the middle of a field when my husband will more than likely spray slurry all over the field soon. So my home is full of lovely blooms this week, just what we need for Spring! Today the sky was blue; bright blue skies gives you more energy and entices you outside so much more than the dull days of winter. I get an extra long break from work this week as it is Saint Patrick's Day on Tuesday and I am taking Monday off as well. Hope you have nice plans for the weekend...

Flower Arranging

Every Spring I like to try something new. This year I have decided to try flower arranging. Below are the results of my first session. I have enrolled in a course in a local community centre for four nights. I am really interested in flowers and am looking forward to preparing a few more arrangements of my own. Next week we are trying a basket flower arrangment. Have you ever tried flower arranging?

More reading...

Last week I finished reading "The Elephant Keeper" and it is on my top 5 list. I loved it, it is very sad in some parts and had me crying twice. Well worth a read if you haven't already read it. It's up there with my other favourite "The Life of Pi"

Update on cross stitch

Here is my cross stitch pattern that I am working on at the moment, I'm new to cross stitching so in places it could be better but Im improving with time. I have an eye, the sign at the top and leaves to finish at the bottom. Here is my progress so far

I have the most difficult part completed so hopefully it won't take long to finish off now, then I am on to my next project which is a latch hook rug kit that my boyfriend bought for me.

Part of my thimble collection...

Here are a few of my thimbles that I have been collecting for years, the majority of them are from different countries and I also have alot depicting wildlife. I started collecting them when I was a teenager. I need to get a new stand for them as I currently have 3 wooden stands and I don't have enough space for my growing collection. Do any of you collect thimbles?? If so what kind of storage/ shelves do you use for them? The stands I have are very dated wooden ones, I would like something different.
