Good evening everyone, it's the weekend again :) I have been busy this week with work, the farm and pottering around the house. I also have some exciting plans. I am reviewing a product for a magazine and got it in the post this week so I may post about it on my blog. Also I have been contacted by IKEA to feature my home on their website so that is exciting for me too. My house is still a little sparse as I don't have all my furniture and interiors finished yet. We have settled in well into the new home, my favourite room is the kitchen and I tend to spend most of my time in it as it is quite large. Above is a photo of my dining table with some of the wildflowers I picked. Notice the sun was shining for a change. Today was warm but quite overcast, I wanted lots of sunshine to take good photographs but it didn't happen today!

The weather is still poor here in Ireland, above is a photo of the sky one of  the evenings this week and it looks like an Autumn evening, doesn't it? Have you any nice plans for the weekend?

I know I have a brand new home in the country which I am delighted with... but I can still dream can't I? I have fallen in love with these Border Oak Homes since I first set eyes on them. They are full of character, old world charm and look so cosy and country cottage like too. Once we had our home built I said never again, there was so much organising and managing on it however if I won the lotto I want one of these!!! You really should check out their website, the finish of the homes are superb and as for the interiors, I just love them!!! So fingers crossed I win the lotto and then I will be contacting Border Oaks to come here to Ireland to build one of these perfect homes for me, overlooking the lake down the long lane. I even have my site picked! What are you dreaming of today???

Happy Weekend Everyone! The sun is shining today and it is nice and warm too :) Hope you enjoy your day. Have you any nice plans?

Hello everyone, I got internet access at last! Hope you are all enjoying the new year, one month almost gone already- how time flies! Since I lasted blogged properly, I have got a new job which is going well. I have also moved to my new house hence the lack of blogging lately as I had no internet access. We are settled in now. I cant find my camera battery charger so have no photographs of the house for you yet. These days I am organising the wedding, one month to go. We got engaged in September and have been very busy planning. This weekend, I'm getting the bridesmaids dresses altered at the dressmakers and then going to look at flowers. I also have to finalise the text for the wedding booklet and next weekend hopefully get my wedding dress from the shop and buy shoes. We also have the tasting at the hotel next weekend.

I'm loving life at the new home and after work most evenings I go up to the farm, I don't do much but I like the fresh air and the baby calves are cute too :) I hope you have all been well and that you haven't given up hope on me blogging again.

I have lots of catching up to do on your blogs!

Take a look at some of the beautiful engagement presents I have received which include Cath Kidston napkins, Cath Kidston double duvet set and pillow cases, farm tea pot, country cottage coasters, a whistling kettle, oven glove and set of towels. How lucky am I!! My plans are coming together, I have a provisional date booked at the hotel, need to check availability of bands, have my bridesmaids picked and have looked at some wedding dresses. Sorry for the lack of posting and blog visits to your blogs lately but I am very busy with work, the new house and the wedding plans. 

It doesn't look like there has been much built since my last update but all the inside walls are built downstairs now. You can now see the two side areas, one will be the garage (the left hand side) and the other will be the sunroom with room for a patio/ seating area to the front of it (right hand side). You can just see where the builder has started the walls for upstairs at the right hand corner upstairs. I'm looking forward to it :-) It was an overcast day yesterday as you can see from al the fluffy clouds in the sky. Hope you are all having a nice weekend!

Here is an up to date photograph of my new home, the angle the photograph was taken at doesn't take in the whole front facade. To the left hand side of the photograph you can see where there will be one window and there will be another one beside it and then to the far right of the photograph there will be a similiar side area which will be the sunroom. It is taking shape and we hope to get the timber in for the upstairs this week.

Here are some drawings of the elevations of our new home to be.. The yellow colour in the drawing is a little mad looking, the windows will be brown in colour, so what do you think. I know it won't be everyones cup of tea, but it is just right for me. Starting the site work next week I think... :)

I have announced my BIG news to you all, and over time I will keep you updated on the progress of the build, but don't worry my blog is not going to become merely an update on the build, I still will have lots of other nice things to write about :-) Crafts, interiors, style, countrysides, colours, etc, etc...

So just to give you a bit of an idea about what the layout of the new house should look like, here is a plan of the ground floor below

There you go, we have a large kitchen/ dining area, sun room, small lounge/ snug and good sitting room to front, one of which may be used as a study/workspace/library room. There is also a small utility and toilet/ shower room to the rear. The plan will be altered in this area to ensure proper wheelchair access. The garage is accessible from the house. So there you have it!

So far I am thinking cream kitchen/wooden worktops, blue walls in the kitchen area/ cream colour in the dining area, possibly tiles on floor in kitchen and wooden floor in the dining area, wooden floor in the lounge/snug. Have you any nice interiors ideas for my moodboards? The wall between the lounge and the dining area may not go in as I would like to have lots of sun in the kitchen area. Any advice, help is much appreciated on interior colours, designs, styles, items, furniture.

P.S I have a small budget so no really expensive items please unless you know someone who is willing to donate them to me ..      :-)

I still haven't started the card making yet, hopefully by tomorrow evening I'll have got a chance to start it. This evening I took down the Christmas tree and the decorations and tidied up the living room and kitchen. The rooms look so neat and tidy now. I do love the Christmas decorations and tree but after so long I get fed up with them. I cut up all the nice pictures of the Christmas cards we got and I will use them to make new ones next year to give to friends and family members. I didn't have much time for crafting although I did get my wall hanging finished. Alot of you were asking me how my sewing is going with the new machine. I have started with making two wee hearts which I need to fill and maybe put some lavendar in. They are very basic looking and one doesn't really look like a heart it's a slightly weird shape :) I will take a photograph of them and show them to you to see what you think (and you will have to be honest). After all as Oscar Wilde would say experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes :) I need to get material though as all I have are old scraps of clothes which aren't very practical to use. I might try and get some old sample curtain material from a lady that makes and sells curtains. Here is a photograph of my completed wall hanging which I have just completed this evening.

I have a list of projects to do which include;

• Continue with my Bird ID Booklet
• Keep practicing my sewing on the new machine
• Make my first homemade card tomorrow
• Start a new cross stitch pattern of a lady
• Start my home interiors ideas scrap book
• Start rearch for some of my college assessments.

Hello dear friends, followers, readers & passer bys...

Hope you all had a good week this week. Did you get up to anything nice? The weather here in Ireland was awful apart from today but the forecast is not good for the weekend more rain! I didn't have a very creative week this week, my mat is progressing well and in a few weeks I should be finished. I'm having a nice quiet night in tonight at the fire. I'm taking a weekend break next weeekend- should be nice to get away and relax. We are staying in a lovely hotel called the Glasshouse, here are a few photos of it

Hope its as nice as it looks. I'm really looking forward to that, and I am going to look up some nice places we can visit when we are there. I may also take some photographs. I was going to go to the woods again this evening for a walk but with all the rain we have had I thought it would be very messy so I didn't go. So as you can see I have no plans for this weekend but lots for next weekend. Whats your plans for this weekend? You doing anything nice/exciting/ interesting?? Maybe your going Christmas shopping? Or attending a Christmas Craft Fair? Doing some crafting? Meeting friends? Spending time with family?
