Some ideas for christmas presents, If only I had lots of time to make and do, but the good news is that I still have 2 full weeks off work before Christmas :)

Hello everyone, hope your weekend is going well, I've been busy with work and have a family wedding next weekend. Today I went to town and also tried to get abit of sewing in, so I managed to get less than 30 minutes but at least I got to do some :)
Here are a few photographs of what I sewed, I'm a learner so excuse the poor quality of the sewing but its unique and I'm proud of what I did :) Thanks to lovely Karen at Tilly Rose for the beautiful fabric :)

I was very excited yesterday evening when I got home from work :) I had this lovely parcel full of goodies from Tilly Rose. She is an expert crafter and is just launching her new shop online, be sure to pay it a visit. She is busy working on it at the moment, it is so lovely with lots of lovely things :)
Check out the treasures I got, I have never had so much fabric before, so this weekend I will be very busy crafting away :) I have another heart to sew and this is a really pretty one, take a look at it below. If any of you have any suggestions for other small projects for me, let me know.

It's the weekend again and it's very cold here in Ireland. I went shopping today for some work clothes and picked up two nice pairs of trousers for £13 which were reduced from over £40 :) I love a bargain, they are just plain black ones though. So apart from that I am just doing a few things around the house and will cook soon. I did a tiny bit of crafting and almost have my wee cushions finished. I just have to finish sewing the hole where I inserted the stuffing. Take a look at them, they aren't near perfect but I like them, my favourite one is the blue one with the stripes as I used Cath Kidston ribbon. The material I used were from old tshirts and the ribbon came on other things mostly on tops, you know them ribbons they use to hang the clothes on the hangers. I used a button on one of them and lovely diamonds on the other ones- they are actually ear rings :-) It's beginning to snow here at home and it's really really cold but I'm lovely and warm here at the fire! What have you been up to today?

Well its Saturday evening here in Ireland and I'm relaxing watching an episode of Escape to the Country which I taped yesterday. I did alot of house work this weekend, hoovering, changing bed clothes, cooking, dusting and cleaning. Here are some of the beautiful clean soft bed clothes on my bed :)

Here is the patchwork quilt I have on my bed at the moment. I really love the pink colours, I didn't make it myself- I wish I was that good. My mother bought it for me years ago when I was a child and I love it :)

I thought it would look pretty with my grey quilt cover.

Here is a photograph of my yummy shepards pie, everyone loved it so I'll be making it again soon :)

Here are the few hearts I made on my new sewing machine, I'm learning. I still have to stuff them so they are still open at the bottom to put the stuffing in. I'm only a learner so you will have to excuse the odd shaped hearts, I did use a perfect template but practice will make perfect.

I still haven't started the card making yet, hopefully by tomorrow evening I'll have got a chance to start it. This evening I took down the Christmas tree and the decorations and tidied up the living room and kitchen. The rooms look so neat and tidy now. I do love the Christmas decorations and tree but after so long I get fed up with them. I cut up all the nice pictures of the Christmas cards we got and I will use them to make new ones next year to give to friends and family members. I didn't have much time for crafting although I did get my wall hanging finished. Alot of you were asking me how my sewing is going with the new machine. I have started with making two wee hearts which I need to fill and maybe put some lavendar in. They are very basic looking and one doesn't really look like a heart it's a slightly weird shape :) I will take a photograph of them and show them to you to see what you think (and you will have to be honest). After all as Oscar Wilde would say experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes :) I need to get material though as all I have are old scraps of clothes which aren't very practical to use. I might try and get some old sample curtain material from a lady that makes and sells curtains. Here is a photograph of my completed wall hanging which I have just completed this evening.

I have a list of projects to do which include;

• Continue with my Bird ID Booklet
• Keep practicing my sewing on the new machine
• Make my first homemade card tomorrow
• Start a new cross stitch pattern of a lady
• Start my home interiors ideas scrap book
• Start rearch for some of my college assessments.

What crafty or creative stuff have you got planned?

Since creating my blog I have got so much inspiration from each and everyone of my blogger friends. It inspired me to start doing some crafting and I have completed two cross stitch patterns and a rug. I am hoping to make a christmas garland next week as I have collected some pine cones for it. I have started to draw and sketch again, these are all things I loved but with work and uni I never made the time to do them. So now I have started to re-visit my creative side. As I don't have a sewing machine, you could almost say I don't know how to sew as I havent used one since I was in secondary school. I want to make so many things I have seen on other blogs, I want to learn to crochet, make some greeting cards, redecorate old furniture, my list goes on and on. You have probably already seen some of my cross stitch and other projects on my blog but for those of you who havent here they are;

I have a few more cross stitch patterns to start but as I have been busy lately I have to get around to them yet. So the projects I have completed so far were easy enough to do as they were projects which I received as gifts. I hope to buy a small/mini sewing machine after Christmas in the sales. Then I want to make some of my own crafts from old material. I have lots of ideas from all your blogs. I have also come across some wonderful crafts from other websites, magazines and even shops, here are just a few of them. I am sorry as I do not have all the links to these projects but some of them are from Prima and Hobbycraft

Some lovely simple bags for shopping should be simple enough to make!

Now these look pretty simple & they can be filled with lavendar too as Crafty Mermaid did with her christmas presents. Oh a Mermaids Purse will like the blue and white one with Sweet Pea on the front :)

Now this wee owl I would really like to start on.Oout window shopping recently I saw it in Monsoon Accessorize & thought it looked quite simple to make :) Isn't it sweet!

These are just a few of the hundreds of ideas I have come across, I want to make one of everything I see but firstly I will have to get a sewing machine and nice material (cheap of course). But for now I will make the Dove with Feathers and try my Christmas Garland. If you have any nice simple projects I'd love to check them out. I'm sure some of you have made all these before, others may get some inspiration from these projects and websites, but whatever you do enjoy yourself making your crafts :)

Well it took a long time and alot of patience but I have finally finished my cross stitch pattern. Sorry the phot has a bit of a shadow in the top corner. This is my second ever pattern stitich pattern to do, you will see my first one on the side bar, it was tiny of a wee hedgehog. This was a much bigger pattern with alot more detail. I like the Autumn leaves on the ground, don't you? I really enjoyed seeing the picture come together and progress. I think I'll frame it. Next project is my rug kit. I'll keep you updated on that as I progress with it. Here is the packaging, my boyfriend bought it for me at a charity auction :)
