This weekend was a bank holiday weekend here in Ireland which was great to get the extra day off work. I still have a lot of holidays to take so hopefully the weather will pick up again and I can enjoy the sunshine. What a beautiful weekend. The weather was just perfect, lots of sunshine and warm too. I spent most of the days in the garden and around the house. I also bought some new clothes for my holidays... Hello everyone... It's midweek already which is great. I have holidays to take from work so I have decided to make a long weekend of it. Can't believe it's Easter- the year seems to be flying by. I had an extremely busy weekend, gardening, working on the farm, painting and put together some new furniture I purchased in IKEA.

Above are some photographs of my sunroom. I'm trying to create an eclectic look for it.. Doing some painting of furniture so I will post some photographs when it all comes together.

On Sunday I explored along the lake shore and helped out on the farm.

It is great to have a long weekend off work thanks to Saint Patrick's Day... The weather has been wonderful here so I have been making the most of it. I'm also doing a bit of DIY around the home and helping out on the farm- feeding calves and tagging..... Have you any nice plans for the weekend? This photo looks more like a Christmas card but when I spotted this little robin posing for me I had to take a photo.

It is lovely to see sheep in the Spring time.. We have none on our farm but any time I spot them I want to take them home...

As you are aware I am decorating my good living room. I haven't progressed very far yet as I am looking out for white furniture and grey curtains. For the moment I have put dried hydrangeas in the fireplace. I hope to have the room ready for Christmas...

Autumn is well and truly here now with the shorter days. The clocks changed last night. It is a long weekend here in Ireland so I hope to get out into the garden to set my daffodil bulbs. I have 100 of them to plant so that will keep me busy... Hope you are all having a nice weekend.

Hello everyone. This weekend we were at a wedding. It was a lovely day, so today we are taking it easy and relaxing. In the snug we have the wood burning stove going. Meanwhile in the living room, things are coming together well. The carpet was fitted last week and I have started to put some things into the room. I have to choose some curtains and furniture now. I bought the fluffy throw in penneys (primark). The blue vases on the fireplace were both seperately at two car boots sales. I was delighted to be lucky enough to get the matching one- a real bonus! I would love suggestions on furniture and other accessories for the room? Please do give me your opinions/ideas?

As some of you may already know, I am new to gardening and particularly flowers, I have shrubs in my garden for two years now and I am trying to introduce lots of flowers  too. We are in our new home three and a half years and there is still lots of work to do, but the garden is one place I like to spend my time. Below are a few photos of my new wildflower area. I set some flowers and spread lots of wildflower seeds, however if I am not mistaken a lettuce popped up in the middle of them (see the tall stem with the yellow flower, is that a lettuce??). I also have this rambling rose and have another one of them along my holly hedge at the front of the garden. I have lots of Gladioli coming up this year too but they won't flower until September. I want to set lots more daffodils along the edges as some of them didn't do so well last year.... Have you any tips for me on easy to grow flowers, I'd love to hear them... Hello everyone. Imagine it is June already, the year is flying by. The first day of Summer here in Ireland has been a wash out, lots of rain and wind. At last the sun has made an appearance. It was so bad with rain that I have spent most of the day indoors. We even had to light the fire as it was so cold. I am really looking forward to my holidays this year as I need sunshine!! For June I hope to do some decorating around the house. We also have family coming to visit so that should be fun. Today is a bank holiday here in Ireland so I have a short week at work and I am even comtemplating taking some days off later in the week too. Have you any nice plans for June?

Now that Spring is here, I am itching to go shopping for home interiors. For the moment though, I can lust after the items below. All are cheap and cheerful and would really brighten up the home. All of these items can be purchased online but I much perfer to go to the shop myself and take a look at the items first. Hope you are all having a lovely weekend and enjoying the Spring weather....

I have been procrastinating for a long time now over decorating my good living room. I have it painted since the summer time. It is a pale ice blue/white colour. I have my sofa and armchairs bought and am now trying to source a fireplace which I have spotted online.

Below are a few images of some wallpaper I like from Sanderson. I like both wallpapers but I think that the floral bird pattern is more to my taste. It is the voyage of discovery range (Clementine Dusty Pink). I will get this wallpaper for both alcoves each side of the fireplace.

In terms of the fireplace I like the Victorian fireplaces with the decorate corbel detaling, Below right is an image of our chimney breast. I need to buy a fireplace and get it fitted before getting the skirting, wallpaper and flooring can be started. 

I have my sofa bought, it a dark slate blue colour. Have you any nice inspiration for me for the room?

Hope everyone has a nice weekend. Imagine we only have one more weekend left until Christmas. I started decorating the house this weekend, using lots of foliage I picked in the hedges and woods around  the farm. I have just a few more decorations to put up and more holly to pick. Here is an image of the arrangement I put on my entrance table in the hallway, do you like it? I might add some more holly to. I'm getting my Christmas holidays on Thursday :) Have you all your decorating done? 

How pretty is this gardener's cottage! I fell in love with it when I visited a few weekend ages. It is the gardener's cottage at Kylemore Abbey Victorian Walled Gardens- the largest walled gardens in Ireland and unique as it was built on bogland. It is such a cute looking cottage with its white walls and teal windows, trimmings and fencing. It overlooks the walled gardens which are spectacular.
