This weekend was a bank holiday weekend here in Ireland which was great to get the extra day off work. I still have a lot of holidays to take so hopefully the weather will pick up again and I can enjoy the sunshine. Apologies for the lack of blog posts, pop over to my Instagram account to see what I've been up to around the farm and garden. Below are a few images from around my home this week...

Christmas at All things nice...
Today I am putting the finishing touches to my decorations. It is a beautiful day here in Ireland so I will out picking some holly, ivy and pine cones. Below are just a few images from around my house this evening. I have keep my Christmas decorations traditional in my everyday living room with reds.
In my good living room, I am keeping it very white and calming with only silver and white on the Christmas tree and a few decorations placed around the room.
I needed a new ceiling light shade and couldn't make up my mind what style I wanted. For the moment I settled on buying this cheap one, The photo isn't very clear but it is grey and casts lovely shadows on the ceiling which you can just about see in this photo.
And finally in my entrance hallway I always create a Christmas vignette so when you enter the door your eye is drawn to it. I light the candles and have some fairy lights too. Once I add some holly and ivy it should look more natural looking.
I'll post some photographs when I am finished, Hope you have a lovely weekend.
Autumn Style at Home...
As you are aware I am decorating my good living room. I haven't progressed very far yet as I am looking out for white furniture and grey curtains. For the moment I have put dried hydrangeas in the fireplace. I hope to have the room ready for Christmas...

Autumn is well and truly here now with the shorter days. The clocks changed last night. It is a long weekend here in Ireland so I hope to get out into the garden to set my daffodil bulbs. I have 100 of them to plant so that will keep me busy... Hope you are all having a nice weekend.

Some Living Room/ Sitting Room Ideas...
As you know we moved into our new home two years ago. We have a kitchen/dining room, living room and sun room all decorated, furnished and finished. However we also have another living room, or here in Ireland we would call it "the good sitting room". Years ago most houses had a "good sitting room" which was never really used only at Christmas times and for visitors. Well I have one of those which we have not yet decorated. I can't decide on what colours and style to go for in this room. I was thinking a shade of grey for the walls and have come across some inspiration on pinterest. Below are some of my ideas, I would love to hear if you have any ideas or images which you think I may like.
Some Spring Time Inspiration.... :o)
Here are some more interior inspiration for you all, please forgive me as I don't have credits for these images but if you know what website I got them from, remind me.
Firstly here are a selection of floral patterns which look wonderful with the plain block colour of the sofa,
This bathroom is very clean and crisp looking with the white walls and furniture, I like the idea of a white bathroom which you can then accessorise with coloured towels and mats to change the mood of the room, floral pattern towels in the summer time and darker brown, black rust, red, green and grey tones in the winter months for warmth. The aqua in this bathroom looks very bright and fresh looking.
How pretty is this utility room and although the washing machines are not integrated with a door on them, they don't distract from the room, the rack to hang clothes is very handy and I love how practical this room is.
So that's some of the interiors I really like this week, they are all colourful and cosy just the way I like them and practical too :o) What interiors are you liking this week, why not share them with us all, let me know if you post some as I love getting lots of inspiration..

And how cosy is this living room, although I have to say those beams would quickly become a nesting place for a variety of spiders and insects which I am not fond of in the home.
More patterns used on a white palette, so cheerful and bright all year round :o)

Some pretty interiors I like....
Crisp white bathroom- how pretty, add hints of another colour to change the decor of the room
Very country cottage- I adore the crochet blanket- really want to learn to crochet this year
A nice homely entrance hallway- love the chez longue and the plants add to the area. Light can flood in through the large window, the stairs is carpeted which makes them cosier :)
I would love a kitchen table like this one- love the wood/cream combination
I'm not sure if I love or hate this room- I like the idea of different patterns on the sitting room furniture but I think it needs something else to tie it all together. A mirror would look nice over the fireplace too
I love this utility/ washroom- it's so bright and clean looking with clean lines and all white. I can just imagine the smell of comfort on my clothes and fabrics here
How organised is this wardrobe?!
Some comfy cushions....
No. 1 Cushions from Dunnes Stores
No. 2 Alvine Floral Cushion from Ikea
No. 3 Electric Flowers Cushion from Cath Kidston
No. 4 Velvet Stripe Cushion from Argos
No. 5 Ella Bulldog Cushion from Debenhams
No. 6 Polysilk Ribbed Cushion from Debenhams
