Part of my thimble collection...

Here are a few of my thimbles that I have been collecting for years, the majority of them are from different countries and I also have alot depicting wildlife. I started collecting them when I was a teenager. I need to get a new stand for them as I currently have 3 wooden stands and I don't have enough space for my growing collection. Do any of you collect thimbles?? If so what kind of storage/ shelves do you use for them? The stands I have are very dated wooden ones, I would like something different.

  3. Hi Laurie Anne & Sarah Jane,

Laurie Anne- Someone else that collects thimbles how cool! I have never met anyone here in Ireland that collects them. Go unpack yours, you'll enjoy looking through them all again & when you get time post them on your blog :)

Sarah Jane- yes its mostly my parents, brother or one of my friends that bring them back from holidays. I never go searching for them in shops when I'm away, if I see one I might buy it but only if it is unique. I remember when I was about 12 I went to England and there were loads of them in markets for like 50 pence each, but most of them are for tourists and are around 3-4 euro.

    All things nice...
