dots and spots

I'm really excited, today I was the lucky winner of a giveaway over at Dots and Spots. I have won 12 wonderful card designs. Becky over at Dots and Spots has a beautiful range of bright, contemporary, stylish collage prints. Each design is created from a collage of different papers, the paper is carefully cut or torn and then layers of different paper built up to create a unique, original and vibrant image.  Dots and Spots showcased their beautiful designs at Top Drawer London a few weeks ago, the exhibiton stand was so pretty. You must all take a look at her website and visit her over at her blog Dots and Spots Design.

Some pretty purchases...

This week with work I was at the National Ploughing Championships which also hosted some rounds of the European Contest. While there I visited the Food and Craft Village, it was full of lovely delicious artisan foods and creative crafts. I picked up these two items which I thought were sweet.

Both items are from Shallow Yarn Barn based in Castleblayney County Monaghan.

I got Happy Mail :-)

Hope your week went well and your enjoying the start of the weekend. I was very excited Wednesday evening when I returned home from work :) There was a package waiting for me :) All the way from Canada :) I never received mail from Canada before and mail this nice. I got the camera out ready to take photographs of the contents, but so predictable the batteries were dead. So do you want to see my gorgeous gifts from my dear blogger friend Laurie Anne from Rebel Blossom.

My happy mail consists of a beautiful needle case which I really needed as I have already lost two needles on the armchair. I was in a panic that someone would get them stuck into them! That would not be good. It is so pretty pink and purple with an adorable cupcake on it. And inside I got needles, it is all handcrafted and even has a Rebel Blossom tag which is really cool!

I also received two handmade cards which are really well crafted and perfect looking, they are so nice I will have difficulty ever giving them to anyone :)

And then on top of that I got the cutest drawstring bag- cream and pink with two hearts sewn onto it :) It is so pretty, I am going to hang it on the side of my bed post and put my fluffy bed socks into it :) I sound like an old woman!

Thank you so much Laurie Anne. I will have to post Laurie Anne her Happy Mail this week. To be honest I really didn't know what to send so I was waiting to see what kind of contents to send and I'm afraid I don't have any handcrafted items. My needlework and crafting is not very good but one thing I can say is that it is unique :)

So a massive thank you to Laurie Anne from Rebel Blossom for her very thoughful happy mail :)
You should visit her blog, it is full of lovely crafts, cooking and lots of life stories :)

Greeting cards- bringing back many memories..

This evening I went through my bag of old greeting cards, mostly birthday cards which I have received over the years, I kept all the older ones and special ones, but cut up all the others. I am going to start making my own greeting cards from these cutouts. Here are some of the cutouts below

I also came across some birthday cards my mother sent to my dad before they were married, here is one of the prettier ones which I like, they are married almost 40 years now.

I also discovered this really old card which my great grandmother gave to my grandmother for her birthday. After a chat with my dad, he informed me that my great grandmother passed away in 1969 which means that this card has to be over 40 years old, it is so pretty with the blue ribbon on the side.

I'm really glad I rooted through all my old cards this evening, I came across alot of them which brought back many happy memories. I love receiving greeting cards :)
