My new home is progressing well. Currently the inside is being slabbed so it will be ready for plastering soon enough. I am getting my kitchen planned this week, so off to meet the kitchen planner at the weekend. Then it is time to pick the type of kitchen I want. I then have to go and look at wood burning stoves for the snug :) It is going to be one of my favourite rooms, so warm and cosy- I hope! Here are a few nice images I put together below, I think the bottom right is my clear favourite as it is very homely and warm looking. Have you a snug in your home???

Not a snug exactly, but a small 2nd floor sunroom, off the bedroom. Once the sun comes in it is so warm and cozy I can forget about this never ending Canadian winter (-17 today)
ReplyDeleteI love the bottom right picture, looks so cosy! :) x
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteBizarrely, the bottomright pic is kind of how I want my fireplace to look. We are searching for an old piece of wood at the moment, like the one in the picture. We have our wood burning stove, but it is not installed yet. The fireplace will be in our living room. It will be open plan, not a snug as such, although I love those cosy rooms. Are you going for any wallpaper. I am currntly debating whether to or to have bare walls and if so what coloir. Ah decisions decisions. Loving your ideas,
Tracy

ReplyDeleteI had a fireplace like the one on the bottom right in a previous house - loved it
i'm pointing to the bottom right photo too!
ReplyDeleteI love them all, theres nothing more inviting than a fireplace on a cold day. I love the use of the clocks as a feature in your favourite pic!!!
ReplyDeleteIn these long dark Irish winters there is nothing as lovely as having a wood burning stove and a comfy couch in front of it! Have to say I love the top two photos here, they're just so pretty :) I envy you decorating your own home! I'm getting tired of renting apartments, have a yearning for my own little nest to decorate.
