More photographs from the Ulster American Folk Park. This time its the Irish streetscape with traditional shopfronts. Not much has changed over the years and lots of towns look like this today, however the interiors have modernised a lot over the years . Love the old bottles and jars in these shops. Exploring Rural Ireland County Cavan
Today we went for a short drive to get out of the house. It was so wet this weekend but between the showers the blue skies emerged and allowed me to take some photographs. We stayed local to home and visited Kilmore Cathedral which is such a beautiful setting right in the heart of the countryside. There is a wealth of heritage all around the site-the Cathedral, Holy Well, See House, Bishop's Palace, Motte and Bailey and Bishop Bedell's Tree which is believed to be the oldest sycamore tree in Ireland planted in approximately 1632. Bishop Bedell is buried on site and you can visit his tomb also.
A Day in Dublin
Last Sunday we visited family on the outskirts of Dublin city. It was a nice sunny day so we ventured off for a walk to the local park where there was a local community festival taking place. There was a nice buzz with lots of people out and about enjoying the good weather. Here are a few photographs of our walk to the park, you will notice that I love heritage and architecture.. some of the old red brick houses are lovely...
Church Architecture from around Ireland...
Happy Valentine's Weekend everyone... Hope you are all having fun where ever you are. I haven't taken many photographs recently as the weather is still dull here in Ireland. The days are getting longer though so hopefully Spring will set in soon. I was looking through my photographs today and noticed that I take a lot of photos of churches. When I'm on holidays I always love exploring them and here in Ireland I do the same too. Many of them are closed to the public. I love how each one is different and the architecture is amazing all built by hand. Those that built these churches were true crafts people with so much skill and talent. Which is your favourite?

Green Walls/ Living Walls....
How about adding some green into your home...
The images below are all Green Walls/ Living Walls and Vertical Garden images from Green over Grey Living Walls and Design. They are an American based firm who install these wonderful creations. I love them and think they are really innovative, they bring life to otherwise bland buildings and create living works of art. If I were living in an urban area I would love one of these. My home is surrounded by wide open countryside with lush green fields for miles, but a green wall would still look good somewhere in any home or even a garden. What do you think??
