An Excuse to Keep Warm and Cosy at the Fire...

The start of November tends to be a bit like the calm before the storm in the build up to Christmas. The Christmas adverts are on television now and lots of Christmas stock in the shops. I shouldn't even be mentioning the big "C word" yet as we still have 6 weeks to go.

This weekend we decided to take it easy and relax, apart from some house work.  It is chilly out today and you just want to stay indoors and keep warm at the fire. We have the wood burning stove on and the living room is nice and cosy for the long night ahead. So time for some cooking, reading, blogging and watching TV. In the meantime, I have gathered together the images below for you. I am drawn to them as they all look like warm snug interiors from my travels around the Castles of Ireland.

Sunshine in Ireland

Sunshine, sunshine and more sunshine here in Ireland. We are currently having a heat wave, we deserve one as we haven't had one in years. I am working this week but contemplating taking Thursday and Friday off as annual leave to soak up more sun. I was in my car today and it was 40 degrees, never saw that before in my lifetime!!! :) P.S. Sorry about the rubbish image of my car, the clock is also wrong should read 16:03 as I am an hour behind.

Snuggle up in the Snug...

My new home is progressing well. Currently the inside is being slabbed so it will be ready for plastering soon enough. I am getting my kitchen planned this week, so off to meet the kitchen planner at the weekend. Then it is time to pick the type of kitchen I want. I then have to go and look at wood burning stoves for the snug :) It is going to be one of my favourite rooms, so warm and cosy- I hope! Here are a few nice images I put together below, I think the bottom right is my clear favourite as it is very homely and warm looking. Have you a snug in your home???

Snow is falling all around us...

Lots of snow here in Ireland and it's very cold, how about these lovely grandma slippers :-) How cosy and comfy they must be...
