The start of November tends to be a bit like the calm before the storm in the build up to Christmas. The Christmas adverts are on television now and lots of Christmas stock in the shops. I shouldn't even be mentioning the big "C word" yet as we still have 6 weeks to go.
This weekend we decided to take it easy and relax, apart from some house work. It is chilly out today and you just want to stay indoors and keep warm at the fire. We have the wood burning stove on and the living room is nice and cosy for the long night ahead. So time for some cooking, reading, blogging and watching TV. In the meantime, I have gathered together the images below for you. I am drawn to them as they all look like warm snug interiors from my travels around the Castles of Ireland.

Around my home...
Hope you all had a lovely weekend. I had an extra long one as I took Friday off and today was a bank holiday. I spent Friday with my parents and Saturday with my sister in law. Yesterday I did the shopping and today I just chilled out and did some housework.
Below are a few images from around my home if you would like a nosy. First up is my growing stack of pretty towels in our bathroom with a few Cath Kidston items thrown in too... The wee lotions I got for 50p in a charity shop, I will probably never use them as they are too pretty. As you may have noticed before my bathroom is very vintage style with lots of florals.
Here are a few more photos of the dresser in my living room. Some of my books are stored here including Selina Lake's Homespun Style, Lorna Sixsmith's Would you Marry a Farmer, Gisele Scalon's Goddess Guide, the rest of my books are stored in my library room in the attic. I also have lots of country inspired items. The card is hand painted silk from Swallow Yarn Barn. You might also spot my Rachel Allen Forget me Not candle and the pretty wildlife cards from Wrendale Designs.
And finally some more of my books in my library in the attic...
So I hope you enjoyed the sneak peek around my home...

A Few Added Extras in My New Home
Here are a few added extras in my new home upstairs, as you can it really is work in progress. This frame is the partition walls for my walk in wardrobe in my bedroom where I will have a dressing table, mirror and his and her railings on both sides. I know it doesn't look the best at the moment but I will update you with photographs as it progresses
And below is going to be my library/ craft space/ study room with a window at the end. I will have shelves all along the walls and a desk to the right at the far end nearest the window.
If those of you who missed my previous post
A book worm..
I love books, be it fiction, fairytale or folklore, I love them all. Every since I was a child I always loved books and book shops and book shelves and libraries. I used to read the dictionary when I was a child too- yes I told you before I was a nerd! I also kept books underneath my pillow. I sold all my Barbie dolls and other dolls when I was 11 to buy second hand Enid Blyton books. I donated alot of my childhood books to charity and local community bring and buy sales. Here are a few childhood books I still have;
I still love to read this Aesop's Fables Book and when I was teaching, the children loved listening to the fables.

My Enid Blyton including Famous Five and Secret Seven Collection, I read these books so quick I remember very little of them :)
And then as I got older I started with the girly flick chick books
And some more...
So you get the picture, I have lots of books and have given away many others.
Here is some inspiration in the form of a few lovely book shelves and home libraries.
If you would like to see some really intersting book shelves and bookcases I have come across this cool blog called the Bookshelf. It's well worth a look when your free.
