Those of you who read my blog will know that I have attended some flower arranging classes and I love them! They are finishing up this week though so I will then have to keep putting all I have learned into practice. The clocks went forward last night which means we have longer evenings. I like getting out and about in the evening time particularly now that spring has really set in. I have some extra days off work this week and the week after for Easter. Below are a few images from around my home this weekend.
From top left; Over my wood burning stove in the snug, the picture is from the Spanish Arch in
Galway and the rest of the photos are my Easter/Spring flower arrangements in my entrance hall
From top left; my dining room table with lilies and greenery and the rest of the photos are my other flower arrangements.

Wallpapers....
I am on the lookout for some nice wallpaper for my snug. I have a stove with a wooden beam over it and there are two small alcoves each side. The room is painted a cream colour and I was looking for wallpaper for the two walls each side of the chimney area. Check out all of the lovely wallpapers below which I like, all from Laura Ashley. Which one do you like most?
Some Cute Cushions...
How pretty are these cushions all under €20.00 from Heatons, my favourite is the the one on the top left- so delicate and sweet isn't it? I hope you are all having a lovely weekend where ever you are!
Progress with the new home... painting has commenced...
Here are a few update photographs on progres with our new home. I took the photographs looking towards the radiators which will be located to the side of the beds. I have to buy flooring and more paint this weekend.
Master Bedroom in blue.
Bathroom which was meant to be Nordic Breeze a grey colour but when put on wall is more a shade of blue. I will get part of the bathroom tiled around the bath, shower and wash hand basin.
Spare Bedroom this room is painted all white but looks a little cream in this photograph. My boyfriend says he'd need to wear sunglasses going into this room but I assure him I will make it look nice.
Part of walk in wardrobe. I hope to have rails on this end and the opposite end and dressing table along the middle of the wall.
Spare bedroom 2. We painted this room Magnolia, again the bedwill room down along the front of the radiator.
Spare bedroom 3 again another bedroom painted cream.
This is my wee Study/ Library where I will keep all my books, papers and craft materials. This will be my hideaway.
Sunroom with high ceiling. This ceiling will be covered in wood and I would like one of the large IKEA light fittings for in here.
Garage
Stove in Snug. Sorry about the untidiness. We are buying a wooden beam for over the stove.
Utility area for sink, washing machine, microwave and storage leading to garage.
Dining area looking into sunroom.
Kitchen area. The sink will be along the window on the left hand side and the hob and cooker between the two windows.
Another view of kitchen. In the right corner I will have units and to the left of the door I will have a dresser unit and an island in the middle with seating.
Sitting Room which I have no yet decided what colour to paint.
So that's the update for you all, sorry it looks very disorganised. I have no photographs of the hallway entrance or landing area, storage room/hot press or down stairs toilet.
More progress on my new home & life in general....
Sorry for the lack of posting lately. I'm very busy with work and planning the new house. I'm still painting the new house, I have most of the ceilings upstairs painted and today I went to the local hardware store to pick paints. I saw this lovely Nordic Breeze paint and thought oh yes that would look lovely in my bathroom ...
I thought it was a nice grey colour as per the inspiration booklet but it's much more blue than it first looked so I am going to pick a different paint for the bathroom, perhaps a greyer colour. I picked Little Blue for our bedroom as shown below. I like this shade of blue for the room along with the white ceilings as it is very calming. One of the other bedrooms is all white and I'm thinking Magnolia for some of the others. The study, walk in wardrobe and the storage room will be white also. I ordered my kitchen this week too :) Got the granite for under my wood burning stove as well. Almost all walls inside are now plastered.
I'm picking paint from Dulux so if any of you have any recommendations along with images of your rooms in those colours I would love to see them as I don't really know what to use and also they look alot different on the walls than in the booklet.
This is how my stove surround should look when completed- I'm hoping anyway!
Next I have to buy all internal doors.
I also bought a new car earlier this month as I do so much travelling for work and petrol was getting so expensive, I bought a diesel one.
As you can imagine I am trying to save every penny/ cent I have now. Hope you are all having a lovely weekend. The weather is dull enough here in Ireland. What are you all up to for this weekend?
Update on my new home...
Here are a few images of my new home which is progressing ever so slowly. Inside it is almost ready for plastering. I am ready to pick my front door too so the exterior can then be plastered. This week the roofs were slatted on the two single storey sections.
Here is an image below of the snug, to the left hand side, the stove will be situated.
And here is the entrance hallway which is double height. I have yet to look at stairs and banisters for the landing.
Snuggle up in the Snug...
My new home is progressing well. Currently the inside is being slabbed so it will be ready for plastering soon enough. I am getting my kitchen planned this week, so off to meet the kitchen planner at the weekend. Then it is time to pick the type of kitchen I want. I then have to go and look at wood burning stoves for the snug :) It is going to be one of my favourite rooms, so warm and cosy- I hope! Here are a few nice images I put together below, I think the bottom right is my clear favourite as it is very homely and warm looking. Have you a snug in your home???

Colourful Home Inspiration
Colourful Home
How pretty is this living room, so full of vibrancy...
I love bookshelves for my collection of books and knick knacks too..
How pretty is this little work station... Love the blue colours on the wall, very calming...
More nice shelves beside a door, what a good use of space.... I might have some in my new snug
And for a funky kitchen- check out these cool aqua blues, love that blue Smeg fridge-it's way over my budget though :(
Some advice, ideas, help & inspiration needed...
I have announced my BIG news to you all, and over time I will keep you updated on the progress of the build, but don't worry my blog is not going to become merely an update on the build, I still will have lots of other nice things to write about :-) Crafts, interiors, style, countrysides, colours, etc, etc...
There you go, we have a large kitchen/ dining area, sun room, small lounge/ snug and good sitting room to front, one of which may be used as a study/workspace/library room. There is also a small utility and toilet/ shower room to the rear. The plan will be altered in this area to ensure proper wheelchair access. The garage is accessible from the house. So there you have it!
So far I am thinking cream kitchen/wooden worktops, blue walls in the kitchen area/ cream colour in the dining area, possibly tiles on floor in kitchen and wooden floor in the dining area, wooden floor in the lounge/snug. Have you any nice interiors ideas for my moodboards? The wall between the lounge and the dining area may not go in as I would like to have lots of sun in the kitchen area. Any advice, help is much appreciated on interior colours, designs, styles, items, furniture.
P.S I have a small budget so no really expensive items please unless you know someone who is willing to donate them to me .. :-)
Some Spring Time Inspiration.... :o)
Here are some more interior inspiration for you all, please forgive me as I don't have credits for these images but if you know what website I got them from, remind me.
Firstly here are a selection of floral patterns which look wonderful with the plain block colour of the sofa,
This bathroom is very clean and crisp looking with the white walls and furniture, I like the idea of a white bathroom which you can then accessorise with coloured towels and mats to change the mood of the room, floral pattern towels in the summer time and darker brown, black rust, red, green and grey tones in the winter months for warmth. The aqua in this bathroom looks very bright and fresh looking.
How pretty is this utility room and although the washing machines are not integrated with a door on them, they don't distract from the room, the rack to hang clothes is very handy and I love how practical this room is.
So that's some of the interiors I really like this week, they are all colourful and cosy just the way I like them and practical too :o) What interiors are you liking this week, why not share them with us all, let me know if you post some as I love getting lots of inspiration..

And how cosy is this living room, although I have to say those beams would quickly become a nesting place for a variety of spiders and insects which I am not fond of in the home.
More patterns used on a white palette, so cheerful and bright all year round :o)

Snug.. typically a small, very private room- how sweet :)
I like this doorway leading from the snug to the dining room, it lets light stream through the two rooms
This storage wall is wonderful, I can just see all my books and ornaments proudly sitting here in the snug.
Check out another beautiful bookshelf in the corner, I love the doors on it as it keeps the books cleaner but having it adjacent to the window may fade the books, which wouldn't do! Fussy aren't I!
