Christmas at All things nice...

Today I am putting the finishing touches to my decorations. It is a beautiful day here in Ireland so I will out picking some holly, ivy and pine cones. Below are just a few images from around my house this evening. I have keep my Christmas decorations traditional in my everyday living room with reds.
In my good living room, I am keeping it very white and calming with only silver and white on the Christmas tree and a few decorations placed around the room.
I needed a new ceiling light shade and couldn't make up my mind what style I wanted. For the moment I settled on buying this cheap one, The photo isn't very clear but it is grey and casts lovely shadows on the ceiling which you can just about see in this photo.
And finally in my entrance hallway I always create a Christmas vignette so when you enter the door your eye is drawn to it. I light the candles and have some fairy lights too. Once I add some holly and ivy it should look more natural looking.
I'll post some photographs when I am finished, Hope you have a lovely weekend.

Cosy & Warm at Home in my Country Cottage...

It's beginning to get a lot like winter at home...
The snug in my home is nice and cosy with the log fire burning away, my fairy lights sparkling and candles burning. What else would you want apart from a warm mug of tea.... The days are getting dark so quickly.
Hope you are warm and cosy where ever you are...

Kitchen lighting....

Yes I will soon be at the stage that I will need to pick light fittings. There is such a large choice and I really get confused but I was thinking of some of the above lights for over the island in the kitchen. As our ceiling is 16 foot in the hallway I need a large light and here is the one I am thinking of.

An Irish Brand...

This weekend while out shopping I spotted some of these amazing chandeliers from Irish company Waterford Crystal, however the price ranges are totally out of my budget and most peoples budget but they are beautiful to just look at.

Shopping Spree...

With the voucher I got from my birthday earlier in the Autumn I got these pretty items. Hope you like them. First I bought two of these pretty pale blue cushions with roses all over, they were €4.00 each
Then I bought two of these flock cushion €4.00 each again.
And finally two of these pretty lamps, they are medium size at €10.00 each.
So that's a total of €36.00 for 6 items from Heatons- all for my bottom drawer, got with my gift voucher!

Light up my life.... :)

Possible ideas for some lighting for the hallway in the new house. I like both of these light fittings. Our entrance hallway is double height and we will need a large light fitting to hand from the ceiling and also give off alot of light. I like the first fitting below which is from IKEA, however as it will be very high up I'm afraid it would become a nesting place for spiders and their cobwebs and then I will have to try and clean it very regular. The second fitting I have seen in a local light shop, it is about 6foot long and is very elegant, although it could look somewhat clinical but if I go with it my hallway will have to be very contemporary in style. Any ideas from anyone in blogland would be great, do you know of any nice light fittings that may suit? If so let me know :)
