A visit to Bundoran County Donegal along the Wild Atlantic Way

Still waiting for Summer to arrive here in Ireland. In the meantime here are some photos of the seaside town of Bundoran in County Donegal along the Wild Atlantic Way. I visit quite often and enjoy the long walks along the cliffs. It looks so much better when the sun is shining too.

There is a great indoor water park for the family just along the sea front. Along the cliff walk called Rougey Walk there are great views back over the town and also to Tullan Strand which is a haven for surfers. You can spot the Fairy Bridges along the walk and the  wishing chair where people have made their wishes and left some money for the fairies. The views of the Atlantic Ocean are breathtaking and you will see some more of them if you explore my blog.
The beach in the town itself is very family friendly while the beach at Tullan Stand is used for surfing and other adventure sports. It is really pretty with a dramatic backdrop of sand dunes and hills.

The town itself has lots of shops and restaurants and the Great Northern Hotel, Golf and Leisure Centre is perched on the cliff top overlooking the  ocean.

So when your planning your next trip out along the Wild Atlantic Way be sure to stop by the seaside town of Bundoran.

  1. Thanks for making this post about Bundoran ... the photos are lovely and now I'm sure we'll want to explore that region during a post-Christmas trip. While we know it will be cold, it looks like a nice area.
