Some Heritage in Ireland...

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. Today myself and my husband visited Clonmacnoise in County Offaly. Clonmacnoise is located on the edge of the River Shannon which is Ireland's longest river. It was founded in 544 by Saint Ciaran. It is a monastic site with ruins of two round towers, high crosses, seven churches and even a cathedral. It is a wonderful place to visit and look around with a visitor centre on site. The photographs came out pretty well for a cold January day in Ireland. Hope you enjoy.

  1. Oh how lovely! This place looks so magical - I'd love to visit.
A plus and negative of blogging is all the beautiful places I get to see because obviously they are fabulous to see but a little sad to think I'll never get to see a lot of them in person :P

    Best wishes, Danielle xo

  2. I'm almost embarrassed to tell you how close I live to Clonmacnoise and still have not visited. I did go there on a school tour years ago but remember little or nothing. It looks so nice, great photos!

  3. I know there are some wonderful places dotted all over the countryside Danielle, but at least with the internet we can see photos of them and get an idea of what they are like in reality. Sweet Auburn you can put it on your list of places to visit over the Summer months :)

    All things nice...
